You likely stumbled up this blog via our two most popular posts, which happened to be recipes cooked over the campfire in a foil pan. One of those is our Campfire Nachos and the other is S’mores Nachos.
One of the benefits of these foil pan recipes is that they can be individualized according to a person’s preferred tastes. They also make for easy clean-up. See how you can individualize Walking Taco Nachos.
Campfire French Bread Pizza Recipe
Our love of toasted bread dipped in pizza sauce inspired this recipe. Much like breadsticks dipped in marinara out at the campground. But this is even easier!
Start with a whole loaf of bread. This recipe can be used with several varieties of bread, including French, Italian, or sourdough. Sometimes, we use a hearty loaf of homemade bread.

Garlic bread is another option. However, we recommend defrosting frozen garlic bread before it goes in the pan.
Pizza sauce, shredded cheese, and your favorite toppings round out this recipe.

How to Make Camping Pizza in a Foil Pan
Start this recipe by cutting the loaf of bread into bite-sized cubes. One loaf of Italian bread is enough for two small pans.
8″ by 8″ foil pans are the perfect size for individual servings of this pizza bread recipe. We get them at Dollar Tree. Buy extra pans and make Peach Crisp for dessert.
Next mix pizza sauce with the cubed bread in a pan. Top with the desired amount of shredded cheese. Add any toppings you want.
We recommend making this recipe with one layer of bread. More layers will result in soggy bread.

Cooking Campfire Pizza Bread
Cover the foil pan with a sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil, crimping it around the edge of the pan.
Lastly, place the bread on a grate over the campfire and bake for 10-20 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the bread is crispy.

We love ours super crispy with a little char marks. Look how delicious that looks!

Best Camping Pizza Ingredients
The best cheese choices are shredded mozzarella, parmesan, cheddar, or an Italian pizza blend. One time, we made this foil-pan pizza bread recipe with herb ricotta cheese mixed in, and it was fantastic!

Add topping on the top of the pan or stir them in. Suggested toppings include peppers, onion, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, pepperoni, sausage, or ham. Our favorites are onion, bell pepper, and black olives.

As you know, it is hard to get it wrong regarding grilled pizza. Other camping pizza recipes that you will love include Dutch Oven Pizza, Campfire Pizza Sandwiches, Grilled Pizza Buns, and Frozen Pizza over the Campfire.

We love this so much that we have made it at home on the grill several times. This delicious pan of camping pizza bread can be eaten with a fork or with your fingers.
