Are you looking for an easy camping recipe that you’re kids will love? Try these Grilled Mini Pizza Buns made over the campfire.
We like to create and test out a variety of new recipes when we camp. Our daughter isn’t always a fan of our camping recipes, so we are always trying to come up with alternative kid-friendly options.
Here is a fun pizza recipe that the kids can make themselves. Our daughter really loved making these.
Grilled Mini Pizza Buns
The ingredients for this mini pizza recipe are quite simple. You need hamburger or hot dog buns, pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, and any pizza toppings that you desire.
We made this recipe with slices of pepperoni.
You also need some cooking spray. We like to use olive oil spray, but any vegetable oil or butter will work.
Start out by spraying both sides of a hamburger bun with the spray oil.
Place the inside of the bun down on the grill to toast it.
We recommend that you do not stick these on the grate over active flames as it will burn the bread.
Carefully remove the toasted bun and top it.
We like to put the pizza sauce first, then the cheese.
Finally, place the pepperonis or any other desired toppings.
Place the bun back on the grill with the topping side up.
Toast the bun until the cheese is melted.
Eat and enjoy.
Kids will love the taste of this, especially if they make it themselves. Just make sure to supervise little hands around the fire.
We like how this recipe uses hamburger or hot dog buns. We always seem to have extra buns on hand so this is easy to put together.
This would be a fun recipe to make on the grill at home too.
What toppings would you put on your individual mini pizza?

Those look yummy! And much easier to attempt than actually cooking pizzas on the grill. Pinned
